This is the first of 9 assignments for a Design History class. Each week we study a different style of Graphic Design, and then have to create an original piece in that particular style.
Coming from a time when Europe was run on a steady stream of Absinthe, Art, Burlesque, Poetry and Naughty Salt, this assignment was a lot of fun to do. I drew inspiration from Alphonse Mucha, the film The Bright Young Things, and watching Moulin Rouge while listening to Marilyn Manson's The Golden Age of Grotesque.1 down, 8 to go
