Art Deco

"You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone"

Art Deco is a style that was hugely popular during the 20's, so I couldn't do a piece from that era without giving a shout to the biggest fish of the time, Al Capone.

I'll Be Right Back.....

I love Scream.  That film was the defining horror film of my generation.  I can remember countless fights with my Mum, because she wouldn't let me watch "such violent trash", before one night, going to stay at a friends house and watching it without letting Mum in on the plan.  Many years later, still under-age, I bought a ticket to see Titanic, and once passed the ushers at the cinema, walked into the one showing Scream 2Scream 3 was weak, so I ignored it, but to this day Scream and Scream 2 are still two of my favorite horror films. Earlier this week, my buddy, Luke Buckmaster was kind enough to invite me to an advanced screening of Scream 4, so he could review it for Crikey.com.au.  I accepted, and to show my gratitude, did this picture for his blog.  Check out his review, and on a personal note, Rest In Peace Randy.

Smoked Out

"Dude, I know its last minute, we need a poster, the gig's called Smokin' Billy's.  Got anything?"
                                                                                                                               - Andy Vegas

Oddly enough, when Andy called me with this proposition, I was thinking it had been a while since I last had a cigar.  I took it as a sign, took the job, and began wandering around the city in search of inspiration, and I found it on the corner of Elizabeth Street.  Waiting for the lights, with a half-eaten piece of Pepperoni Pizza in hand, I noticed a woman standing next to me, decked out in Dock Martins, a business suit, with a shaved head, except for the top, which was long and gelled straight up.  It was awesome, I couldn't take my eyes off it, up until the point where I noticed her noticing me staring at her hair, and the whole awkward vibe set in.  I set off again, stopping off at a Tattoo Studio, and passing a Goth shop that had a window full of black glossy mannequins wearing corsets and that was it.  I was inspired, and a few hours later, The Dive Bombers had their poster.  I might have that cigar now...
